Tragedy in Southern India: 36 Dead After Pharmaceutical Factory Explosion

Indian authorities have confirmed that at least 36 people died after a devastating explosion at a pharmaceutical factory in Telangana. The blast erupted in the spray dryer unit of Sigachi Industries on June 30, where 108 employees were present. Dozens more were injured, and DNA testing is underway to identify severely burned victims.

Rescue crews are still removing debris from the site, located about 50 kilometers from Hyderabad. Two workers succumbed to injuries in the hospital, while teams continue searching for any who may be trapped. The state has launched an official inquiry and suspended factory operations for 90 days pending investigation.
