A Woman Who Became A “Vampire” By Covering Entire Body In Tattoos Issues Warning
Maria José Cristerna, a Mexican woman known as the “real-life vampire,” holds the Guinness World Record for the most body modifications in a woman, with 50 in total. Her changes include full-body tattoos (even her eyeballs), numerous piercings, subdermal implants in her arms and forehead, and a split tongue. She got her first tattoo at age 14, with her father eventually supporting her decision.
Cristerna describes body art as a deep form of self-expression. “Art runs through my veins,” she says. Her transformation is not only about appearance—it reflects her personal journey of overcoming a ten-year abusive and controlling marriage. Now, she dedicates herself to supporting women who have suffered from emotional, physical, or psychological violence. According to her, “Love for oneself is the only path out of abuse. We came here to be happy.”
