MAGA mom taken by ICE – husband refuses to stop flying Trump flag
A California man is standing by his support for Donald Trump and refusing to take down his “Keep America Great” flag, even after ICE detained his wife, Arpineh Masihi, an Iranian immigrant, on June 30. Masihi, who came to the U.S. at age 3 fleeing Iran, has lived in the country for over 40 years. Despite her long residency and strong pro-Trump views, she was taken into custody at their home in Diamond Bar, California.
According to her husband, Arthu Sahakyan, Masihi had lost her green card about 15 years ago due to a theft conviction but had been checking in regularly with immigration authorities while working to regain her legal status. Everything seemed stable until June 21, when the U.S. bombed Iranian nuclear sites. Days later, Masihi was detained along with more than 130 other Iranian nationals.
Even though he’s devastated by her detention, Sahakyan still supports Trump and the immigration crackdown. “I’m very for the U.S. vetting Iranian nationals because of the sleeper cells,” he said. “I think it will resolve a lot of issues… even though I miss her dearly.” He emphasized that he doesn’t blame Trump for what’s happening, saying, “Trump is not trying to do anything bad. He wants the best for the country.”
Masihi is reportedly being moved to another detention facility and is growing anxious about her future in the U.S. In a phone call with Fox 11, she tearfully admitted her fear and uncertainty.
Meanwhile, despite friends urging him to take down the Trump flag, Sahakyan remains firm: “Even though my friends say, ‘Take the flag down, you’re going through a lot,’ I’m like, ‘No, the flag stands.’”
